Eating  Disorder  Treatment  In  Denver

Picture
You want recovery from your eating disorder.  Maybe you have anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, exercise addiction or crippling negative body image distressing thoughts.

What ever your struggles with disordered eating, food obsession, and eating disorders, I am here to help.  I have years of experience with every level of care in the treatment of eating disorders--inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and outpatient.

I believe deeply in the team approach, and perhaps, most importantly, I believe that you already possess the skills you need to live a life of recovery.  One of the most difficult things in treating eating disorders is to redefine the word "recovery" for my patients.  So many men and women who are struggling with their eating disorder behaviors (such as severe food/calorie restriction, over-exercising, purging, binging, etc) live in a dichotomous wold of "either/or" thinking.  They believe that "recovery" means perfection, in that they can't struggle, they can't make mistakes, and they can't have bad days sometimes.  Many people, who strive for this "perfection-based" recovery end up feeling more hopeless than ever.  Maybe you know someone who has reached this point in their eating disorder recovery.  Maybe that is where you are now.

But there is hope.  I believe in your recovery from eating disorder hell.

I can help.  I can help you find meaning outside of your eating disorder, one that includes the vitality required to experience the entire range of human emotions, one that is authentic to who you are and is solidly committed to representing who you want to be.  I'm not here to show you perfection or a magic land, called "Recovery."   I am here to witness your becoming more a more deeply self-compassionate and kind human.

As a mindfulness-based, compassion-focused eating disorder therapist in Denver, Colorado, I pull from a variety of therapeutic approaches and rely heavily on concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.  I also practice math of the techniques, practices, and concepts that I teach to my clients.  As one of my deepest values is authenticity, I try really hard to never ask my clients to do things that I, myself am not willing to do.
